What makes HUIBAO Red Light different from ordinary glass?

HUIBAO combines tempered-glass screen protection with quantum-dot light conversion, bringing optical material technology into model-specific iPhone accessories. The functional material absorbs part of incoming blue light and emits red light at a longer wavelength. The glass surface and optical layer perform different jobs in one protector.

Quantum dots: from incoming blue light to red emission

Quantum dots are very small semiconductor particles with wavelength-dependent optical behavior. In a red-light conversion layer, suitable incoming light excites the material and is partly re-emitted as red light. This is photoluminescence, rather than simply tinting glass or reflecting existing red light. The amount emitted depends on the incoming spectrum and intensity, material construction and measurement conditions.

E60 and E90: two base-film specifications

The E60 and E90 technical sheets describe two raw-material grades. Their specified red emission peaks are 630 ± 5 nm and 650 ± 5 nm respectively. Both state transmittance of at least 87%, haze no greater than 2% and emission width no greater than 45 nm. These values describe the named base films; they do not identify which grade is in every retail SKU or represent the total installed glass-and-adhesive stack.

PET base film vs quantum dots in an OCA layer

A base-film construction places the quantum-dot functional layer between PET carriers, while an OCA approach places functional material in optically clear adhesive. OCA and the phone-side adhesive also help assemble and attach a finished protector. These are construction choices, not interchangeable names for one layer. Compare the actual finished stack before making a durability or optical-output comparison.

Why can the edges glow red?

The conversion layer emits light in several directions. Some light travels inside the transparent stack and reaches the edges through a waveguide effect, where red emission can become visible under suitable conditions. An edge glow explains an optical effect; it is not a brightness meter, conversion-efficiency measurement or measure of the light dose reaching your eyes or skin.

How to read a conversion percentage

A meaningful conversion figure needs a defined light source, excitation spectrum, collection geometry and calculation method. The grade-specific technical sheets list a red-light conversion rate of at least 30%; the V5.0 handbook lists 10% for its base-film platform, and the construction comparison uses approximately 10%. These documents do not establish a shared test definition. HUIBAO therefore does not apply one of those percentages to every finished protector or describe it as the percentage of all screen blue light removed.

The patent foundation behind the material

The technology portfolio includes inventions concerning luminescent composites and polymer-based optical materials. HUIBAO brings this material science into everyday iPhone protection. Patent documentation describes the inventions and their named rights holders; a patent concerns intellectual property, rather than certifying a finished accessory’s clinical performance. Our English product explanations describe how conversion works without changing the original patent records.

How do I choose the best iPhone screen protector for my needs?

Compare exact fit, tempered glass or film, the optical function, case clearance and the price per protector. A privacy filter and a blue-to-red conversion layer serve different purposes. Compare iPhone screen protector options →

Which iPhone do I have?

Open Settings → General → About and look at Model Name. Match the complete name, including Plus, Pro or Pro Max, before ordering. Find your iPhone model →

Can I use the same screen protector on different iPhone models?

Do not choose by screen size alone. The outline, front camera area and edge fit can differ. Check the compatible model on each product page; a Pro and Pro Max are not interchangeable. Check fit and case compatibility →

What is a Red Light screen protector?

The optical layer absorbs some incoming blue light and re-emits red light. It works without charging, alongside a protective glass surface and model-specific fit. Read the Red Light guide →

How do I install tempered glass without dust or bubbles?

Check the fit first, clean and dry the screen, remove remaining dust and follow the instructions supplied with your kit. Avoid touching the adhesive side. Installation steps → Help with bubbles →
